Vibrational Yoga

Experience yoga in the garden amidst the energy of the original vibrational healers, the honey bees! We will practice in the NYIC studios backyard, overlooking the marsh preserve. The frequency of the buzzing beehive creates a healing resonance field that alkalizes the body and activates self-actualization in the mind of the yogi. 

This will be an all levels Nourish Yoga class, including a chakra clearing and cranio-sacral balancing. We will add a guided meditation on/with our pollinating friends, the beautiful apis mellifera. 

Come quiet your mind and find your flow in the presence of nature. Experience illumination of your brilliant soul as we tap into the wisdom contained in the energetic field of planet earth, breathing fresh air and enjoying the flowers.

MEDITATION: Spinal Breathing Pranayama

Spinal Breathing Pranayama (SBP) is a simple way to quiet the nervous system and provide a foundation for deeper meditative practices. We cannot all together stop our thinking but we can focus on the breath and slow down those thought waves to alleviate anxiety and increase joy. SBP provides a sweet and easy entry point into the health giving world of inner stillness. 

This breath sequence is the perfect beginning exploration into meditation (for new practitioners) or can be added to any seated practice you may already have. SBP will increase the vital live force in the body and gently awaken your intuition and the huge storehouse of prana near the base of your spine.

Increase patience, focus, equanimity and clarity through this simple and accessible practice. Learn how easy it is to purify your spinal nerve and pave the way for self actualization and enlightenment (or simply to like your family more;)!

We will begin with a short (30 minute) yoga asana practice to prepare the mind for our sitting meditation.  ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!

Contemplating the Kosha's to Heal Anxiety

The word "kosha" in Sanskrit means sheath or layer. In this class you will learn the yogic perspective on the 5 koshas and how to keep them healthy. We will raise awareness of your physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual layers. This new perception will help you gain control of your emotions,  let go of anxiety and embrace creativity in new and beautiful ways. 

Through guided meditation, pranayama (breath work), lecture and yoga asana, you will gain a clear and embodied understanding of how to increase and maintain your power and vitality.

This class is open to ALL and accessible to ANYONE looking for more tools to manage stress and/or anxiety.

Find out how simple and fun it is to make herbal preparations from your home medicine chest. Together we will prepare a salve you can bring home and enjoy. Learn how herbs affect us and which ones to have on hand to relieve a variety of common ailments.

Presenter: Kelly Patterson is a backyard beekeeper and herbalist. She has great passion for growing medicinal herbs and flowers and has been using these natural remedies to keep herself and her family healthy for many years.
